Geological Museum was established on May 16, 1928. The museum has been renovated with a grant from JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency). After undergoing renovations, the Geological Museum reopened and was inaugurated by the Vice President of Indonesia, Megawati Sukarnoputri on August 23, 2000.
